Abstract

Abstract: Currently, health care requires the involvement of multiple professionals and patient care activities are usually carried out in different locations within the same health establishment. As a complement to care, the patient can also visit different health services, either by their own need or by referring one service to another. Thus, the large amount of data resulting from this entire process is stored in different repositories and without communication between them. But the change in the behavior of patients, from passive care recipients to subjects with a more active role in their own health, generated the need to gather, organize and find a way to represent all this personal health knowledge, which can be used both by the patient and the professionals who care for their health. Thus, the general objective of this research work was to propose a conceptual framework for the organization and representation of knowledge in personal health. For this, the Design Science Research method was used to develop the artifact whose design process involved the assessment of suitability by health experts. The demonstration of the knowledge gathered in this framework was carried out through a survey of users who were able to interact with a prototype (instantiation of the conceptual framework) prepared based on the Conecte SUS Cidadão, which received fictitious data to simulate the use of the system by two users, being one female and the other male. As a result of the research, a high degree of agreement was obtained from the participants to the statements that dealt with the organization and representation of knowledge in personal health; access, control, management and sharing of information; and how this knowledge can be used. Thus, the main contribution of this dissertation was the conceptual framework which gathered a large amount of information on personal health, presenting the knowledge on the subject in an organized and structured way. Other contributions were the taxonomy developed on knowledge in personal health and the suggestion to use the Conecte SUS Cidadão as a national tool for personal health management, integrating the Brazilian health system, which proved to be possible and viable with the proposal of remodeling its information architecture and its interface.
